The Secret of the Law of Attraction

The secret of the Law of Attraction isn't all that big a secret, actually. And it's quite simple to implement into your life. In fact, it can be summed up in three easy steps:

1. Ask
2. Receive
3. Allow

It's as simple as that. Let's have a look at each.
Ask
In order to get the things you want out of life, you need but ask for it. Simple right? Yes, indeed, but it's not always easy. Many of us realize firsthand that old habits are hard to break but that's exactly what needs to be done in order to properly ask. We need to break our old habits of negative thinking. Think about it. How often do you say things to yourself like: "Bad things always happen to me" or "Why does this always happen to me?" Our negativity can also translate itself on what we're asking for as well. If you want to quit smoking which is the more positive statement?

* I want to quit smoking, or:
* I have clean, pink, healthy lungs, fresh breath and endurance.

Obviously the more positive statement is the second one, which brings up a very good point.

When asking the universe or God or Frank or whatever you choose to call it, it's a good idea to not use the word "want." Using "want" when making your requests implies that there is something you don't have and therefore you will always "want" and not "have."

This is a little something I learned from reading "Conversations with God."

The point is, if you think about your not having the things you want, then you will bring into existence your not having things. To get what you want, think and speak and act out what you want. In thought and in conversation be the person who has all the things he has asked the universe for.
Receive

Okay, admittedly this is a rather difficult step to go with. Because in order to receive what you ask for, you have to acknowledge that you already have it.

Sometimes this means going out and doing something to carry you closer to your goal, sometimes it means just waiting for your goal to come to you.

Either way you have to listen to what your intuition tells you.

A good way to listen to your intuition is to simply sit still for a time.

By being still, you are able to slow down your thoughts and opening yourself up to whatever instructions the universe gives to you.

Sometimes you'll have to get up and do something, sometimes you'll have to just wait, but either way, it's a good idea to be still for at least 30 minutes every day to train yourself to listen. If you can't be still for 30 minutes, try being still for ten minutes at least when you wake up in the morning and just before you go to sleep at night.
Allow

Okay, you asked, and by asking you received, now you have to allow and to do this you simply have to be there to let it happen.

This means that there is no resistance to what the universe is telling you via your intuition. You are open to whatever comes your way.

To allow means to be patient as well. You have to trust that you already have what you asked for, and believe that even though it hasn't entered into physical form yet, it's on its way.

Your Guide To Self Esteem and Personal Growth



When Self Esteem and Personal Growth don't work


When it comes to self esteem and personal growth we all can think of times when we've fallen short. We attend all the seminars, we read all the books and we try to change our self talk and visualize abundance and a week later we're back on the couch eating potato chips and watching the latest reality television program. Then we sigh heavily and say to ourselves: "This stuff doesn't work!"

Well, you're right. It doesn't work. They're not supposed to. You are.

Taking Responsibility

I must have bought and re-bought Napoleon Hills "Think and Grow Rich a dozen times and until recently it did nothing for me. This was primarily because I wasn't willing to take responsibility for my own actions and follow the directions laid out before me. I thought that I could just do a few of the activities printed in the book and my life would magically rearrange itself to one that I would rather have. Now I know better and my life has revealed an abundance I've never known before.

Wasted Time

I'm 43 years old now. I started reading books and attending lectures on self esteem and personal abundance when I was in my 20's. So by my calculations I've wasted a good twenty years misusing the information I've come across. I now believe that I could have changed my entire attitude in about six weeks. But honestly I don't cry over spilt milk. Without the mistakes I've made in the past, i wouldn't have become the person I am today. So what can I, a middle aged man realizing that he is in the prime of his life tell you that can help you not make the mistakes I made? What advice can I give you? Well it's quite simple and can be summed up in 3 little words:

Practice, Practice, Practice.

Yup, that subtitle says it all. Chances are you will get frustrated. Chances are equally as good that you will actually quit and what you must understand is that it's okay. There is nothing wrong with you, you've just hit a little speed bump and that speed bump is you. Old habits are hard to change (actually, they're quite easy to change but that's for another article to discuss), but as soon as you're able, get off the couch, throw away that bag of potato chips and get back on that horse!

A great site that shows you how to accept your life as it is. By accepting your life you can see it clearer and thereby readily come up with solutions for change.



Simpleology
Time management, money management, life management. It ain't complicated folks, it's quite simple. Probably the best online course I've ever seen. Simpleology I is free, II and III are $97 dollars but totally worth it. I suggest you don't buy anything until you've gone through course I and make your decision about paying for II or III then.



The Six Week Extreme Life Makeover
A great step-by-step plan using what is now known as the law of attraction. It says that it takes virtually no effort to use, but take my word for it. It takes effort to put down the potato chips, believe me :-)

(I guess you guys can tell I have a thing for potato chips, huh?)


Conclusion

This is just a partial list of the resources available to you in your quest for better self esteem and personal growth. I honestly hope you take my words to heart and do something with them. Remember, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing as before but expecting different results. So get out there and do something different!

Using the Law of Attraction Effectively

Introduction

There's been a lot of chatter on the internet these days about the Law of Attraction, made famous in this generation by "The Secret," and also in past generations by books such as "The Power of Positive Thinking" and "Think and Grow Rich." Yet, many people have heard the message of the Law of Attraction and wonder to themselves: "What are some specific ways I can use the Law of Attraction to better my life?" Well, I'm here to tell you that there are many ways to tap into this amazing power, including taking the first step, listening to intuition, removing negativity and replacing that negativity with positivity. The purpose of this article is to show the reader how to use these techniques as a starting point to achieving the life he or she deserves.



Take first step, then the next , then the next...

Many people, when reading for the first time books such as "Think and Grow Rich" or watch the video "The Secret" make the mistake of thinking that all they have to do now is plop themselves on the couch and do a little visualising or say a few affirmations. I'm sorry to say that I was one of those people but I can say with absolute certainty nothing could be farther from the truth. "Thinking" about the kind of life you want is actually only the beginning. There is work involved but don't worry, once you see those initial results I'm positive that you'll find it quite enjoyable. All that you need to do is take the first step which seems impossible if you don't know what that first step is, which leads us to the next technique:



Listen for Instructions

When using the Law of Attraction, it's necessary to take a little quiet time in order to listen to your intuition to find what your next step should be. This is so your Higher Self, no matter what you choose to call it can speak to you in that "still, small voice" that holds all the wisdom you need. The best way to do this is to simply be still for five to thirty minutes. By doing this in the morning and in the evening, you're sure to get the calm, peace of mind needed to listen to your inner voice thoughout the day. When you're in tune with you inner self, you're able to be "in the flow" so to speak, and you'll be more open to ideas that you flash upon.



Remove Negativity in Thought, Word and Action

The main thing that keeps you from getting what you want is negative thinking or in other words, thinking about what you don't want. When this happens, it's just proof that the Law of Attraction is working as perfectly as if you were getting what you asked for, because what you're asking for is what you don't want. For example, if you want to quit smoking, your predominant thought shouldn't be to stop smoking but to have healthy lungs and clean smelling clothes,...etc. In my opinion, the word smoking shouldn't even be entered into your thoughts. There's one thing to remember: it's necessary to replace whatever negative thoughts you have with positive ones.



Replace Negativity with Positivity

As stated above, it's necessary to replace those negative thoughts with positive ones. This is sometimes easier said than done, however, since we may actually think that our negative thoughts are positive, as in the stop smoking example. That's why you have to be vigilant that the thoughts that you think may be positive contain no trace of the negativity that you want to get rid of. It's really not difficult: simply make sure that you think only of the life you want to live.



Conclusion

Well there you have it, four ways to help you use the Law of Attraction to get what you want out of life. But these aren't the only ways. Why the Law of Attraction doesn't work (Part One)

There is a lot of talk these days about The Secret, a popular book and video about that touts the benefits of using the Law of Attraction to get the wealth, health and happiness you long for in your life. The ironic thing about this Secret is that it’s not a secret at all. It’s always been out there, but nobody cared to look at it.

If you’ve read “Think and Grow Rich,” or any similar self help book you’ve read about the Secret. By the same token, there’s a chance that if you’ve read any one of these books, you’ve pitched it across the room in frustration muttering to yourself: “This garbage doesn’t work. Why did I waste my time with it?”

I’m here to tell you that it indeed does not work. I’m also here to tell you why.

It doesn’t work because it works perfectly

Now, I have to give you a little background here. And it gets a little paradoxical but try to stay with me here.

If you are healthy, wealthy and full of joy and love and you think the world is a happy place, then the Law of Attraction works perfectly for you.

If you are bitter, depressed, frustrated and see the world as a horrible place, then the Law of Attraction is working just as perfectly for you.

Your world is the way it is because you think it that way. You are the creator of the world you see, you are the one responsible for the way it is. And if you are responsible for the way it is, then you are the one responsible for changing it.

You don’t believe that you are the creator of the world? What, do you think that everyone sees the world in the exact same way as you? Not true I say, and I can prove it.

I am a human male with an abundance of melanin in my skin. Depending on the predominating thoughts of people who look at me, I could either be a black man, a proud black man, some would even call me the dreaded n-word. Most of the time I look at myself in the mirror, I see myself as an overweight male with cinnamon brown skin and an afro. Which one of these observations are correct?

All of them and none of them. It all depends upon the observer. The Law of Attraction states that our world is created by our thoughts. So, if the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for us, it is because the Law of Attraction is working perfectly for us.
